A Day in the Life: Adult Group Lessons (ages 15+)

8:30-9:15 AM

Pros arrive at the resort, gear up in the locker room, and travel to Spruce via the Over Easy Transfer Gondola to the Adult Group Lesson Corral.

9:15-9:30 AM

All Pros must be fully dressed in uniform, boots on, and ready to start the day.

The morning meeting takes place in the Adult Group Lesson Corral with Pros and Supervisors. Following the meeting, Pros meet and greet guests prior to lesson launch.

Discuss safety topic for the day/week, snow & weather report for the day, need to know for the upcoming week, teaching/people skills fundamental discussion for the day.

Receive class assignment and head count, introduce yourself to the class, and begin to collaborate on goals for the lesson.

9:30 AM-12:00 PM

Pros exit the corral and conduct on-snow lessons using appropriate drills, progressions, and terrain suited to their students' ability levels. Remember: don't over-terrain.

All classes riding chairlifts must return to the "Check-Back" banner after their first run to check in with a Supervisor. This allows Supervisors to address mixed abilities, late arrivals, ticketing issues, and any other operational needs.

12:00-12:15 PM

Lesson wrap up:

  • Review progress towards goals set for the lesson, and complete required progress updates.

  • Share highlights from the day.

  • Discuss student achievements and next steps.

  • Invite guests back for another day with the ski & ride school.

12:15-12:45 PM

Coaches must clock out and take a 30 minute unpaid meal break. Depending on guest volume and business needs, coaches may get released from work for the rest of the day. Coaches should check their schedule as lesson assignments for the afternoon may have changed.

12:45-1:00 PM

All Pros must be fully dressed in uniform, boots on, and ready to teach their afternoon assignments.

The afternoon meeting takes place in the Adult Group Lesson Corral with Pros and Supervisors. Following the meeting, Pros meet and greet guests prior to lesson launch.

 A Day in the Life: Private Lessons

Primarily PSIA-AASI Level 2+ certified coaches.

8:00-8:45 AM

All Pros must be fully dressed in uniform, boots on, and ready to start the day.

The morning meeting takes place in the Private Lesson Corral with Pros and Supervisors. Following the meeting, Pros meet and greet guests prior to lesson launch.

Half day lessons run from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM and 1:00-4:00 PM (3 hours). Full day lessons run from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM (6 hours). Any breaks, including lunch, and inclusive of these times. Coaches should plan accordingly with their guests for breaks and meal times.
