It's July Already?!

As the saying goes, "Time flies when you're having fun!"

The Summer Solstice brings the longest days of the year, giving us plenty of opportunity to put in a full day of work and still enjoy the outdoors in the early mornings and evenings. With the beautiful weather we've had over the past two weeks, it's been a fantastic stretch for Northern Vermont.

Here in Ski & Ride, we've been having some fun too! Dave Raybould has returned from his summer break and is back in the house. Jakubson is deep into hiring efforts, preparing for our new onboarding process, and making major improvements to our website.

Speaking of Our Website...

Communication continues to be one of our greatest opportunities for improvement as a team, and Jakubson has been hard at work developing stowesnowpros.com 2.0.

A huge thank you goes to Dave for the time and effort he's invested in learning how to make this site as functional and professional as possible. Our goal is to provide a professional platform that gives you quick, easy access to the tools and resources you need every day.

We also want the website to serve as a recruiting tool. You'll notice a new homepage designed to help attract people to Stowe, as well as a Staff Portal that houses all of your key links. The site will continue to serve as a repository for resources, links to Epic Employee, and a home base for everything related to Stowe Ski & Ride School.

Simplifying Our Emails

Going forward, we'll work to simplify our email communications while linking to more detailed information on the website.

It's still a work in progress, but it's already a huge improvement over the previous version!

Looking Ahead

As we head into the coming weeks, please keep an eye out for important onboarding communications. This season, we'll be introducing several exciting new tools and features for our team.

A Final Thought

This month, I've felt humbled, inspired, and grounded by people who have taken on big, scary adventures—raising awareness for meaningful causes while proving that we're often capable of far more than we allow ourselves to believe.

Their stories remind me that we can tackle big challenges, and that many of the frustrations we face day to day pale in comparison to what others overcome through determination and grit.

From Kelsey Pfendler's record-breaking solo row across the Mid-Pacific Ocean—becoming the fastest person, fastest woman, and youngest woman to complete the crossing—to our very own Skizzi Huffman's incredible 1,350-mile bike ride across Europe, these women have accomplished extraordinary things.

Their journeys have inspired me to believe that I, too, can do big, scary things.

Be sure to check out Skizzi's story in the Employee Stories feature on StoweSnowPros.com.

Have a great month, everyone!

Employee Stories - Skizzi's Epic Adventure!

What does it take to bike 1,350 miles across Europe?

For Stowe Adaptive Supervisor Skizzi Huffman, it meant battling fierce storms, physical exhaustion, and moments of real uncertainty while riding through seven countries to raise awareness and support for Vermont adaptive athletes.

In EuroVelo 6: Adaptability For All, Skizzi shares a powerful story of resilience, perseverance, and the lessons she learned on the road. Along the way, she discovered that adaptability isn't about avoiding challenges—it's about finding a way forward, even when the path ahead feels impossible.
