A day in the Life: Mountaineers
8:00-8:30
Pros arrive at the resort and boot up in the locker room. Ride to Over Easy transfer Gondola to the Adventure Center at Spruce.
8:45
All Pros must be geared up, in full uniform, boots on, ready to roll.
Morning meeting occurs with Pros and Supervisors in the Adventure Corral.
Meet and greet guests prior to lesson launch.
8:45-9:00
Supervisors start to assign Pros to classes. Pros begin organizing their classes by filling out their rosters with the required information (include first and last name, allergy info, if applicable early pick up info, and helmet and clothing descriptions).
After Pros develop and discuss a safety plan with their students they place the white copy into the large roster box located in the middle of the corral and begin their lesson.
9:00-12:00
Pros exit the corral and conduct lesson on snow using appropriate drills and progression on the terrain that matches their student’s ability (don’t over terrain!).
All classes that access a lift must return to the green “Check-back” banner located at the Spruce Base area after their first run to check in with their Supervisor to address any class splits, matriculation of late arrivals, scanning issues etc.
Mid morning snack break usually occurs around 10:45-11:00 in the Adventure Center. Pros must submit their pink rosters to the F&B attendant to ensure all allergy protocols have been recognized and followed prior to serving the kids.
11:30-12:30
Lunchtime for Pros and kids in the Canteen.
Pros make sure their students take off their jackets, helmets etc. prior to getting in the cafeteria style lunch line.
When pros and students have completed lunch all help clear their table by responsibly following the composting/recycling and trash process. All will go to the bathroom then gear up and head back outside by 1PM (if not sooner!)
12:30
If there is a pre-determined early 12:30PM pick-up, Pros will have the student signed out near the metal ski racks just outside the secure doors of the AC on the snow-front. If the skis are rentals leave on the rack, if not, remind guests to take their skis with them.
12:30-3:00
Afternoon lesson resumes on snow.
Pros take a warm up run with students. Pros conduct their lessons using appropriate drills and progressions on the appropriate terrain; touching on concepts from the morning lesson.
Afternoon break usually takes place around 1:45 PM.
During break the Pros begin filling out progress cards if they did not start the process during lunch and fill out their timecards and place them in the box at desk # 1.5 for the AC Indoor Supervisor.
Classes take their last runs after break and return to the base area of the Adventure Triple for an organized sign out.
3:00-3:15
Pros speak to the parents individually, obtain their signatures on the yellow rosters, review progress cards and highlights of the day, and invite guests back for another day.
Pros go back inside the Canteen and place signed yellow rosters into the box located on desk #1.5.
3:15-3:30
Pros depart for the day, and return their uniform and equipment to the locker room at MOC.
