8:45-9:00

Pros begin organizing their assigned class by filling out a roster (include allergy info, early pick up info and helmet and clothing descriptions), checking for last minute bathroom needs, getting kids dressed properly (including the kinder-lift vests, red for PF green for TB) and making sure they have all their equipment and info tags.

After submitting their class roster the Pros then grab kids and gear to start their day.

9:00-12:00

Pros conduct lesson on snow using appropriate drills and progression on the terrain that matches their students ability (don’t over-terrain!). Don’t forget your Flip Book!

Mid morning snack break usually occurs around 10:00 in the Adventure Center. Pros must submit their pink rosters to the F&B attendant to ensure all allergy protocols have been recognized and followed prior to serving the kids.

12:00

Lunchtime for Pros and kids.

Pros place student’s helmet, jacket and vest in the assigned cubbies.

Once the class has been properly seated Pros take food orders from kids, attend the serving stations and deliver food and drink to the students at their tables and everyone responsibly follows the composting/recycling and trash process after lunch has concluded.

When Pros and students have completed lunch, it’s time for a trip to the bathroom then gear up and head back outside no later than 12:30.  If there is a pre-determined early 12:30pm pick-up Pros will have the student signed out in the secure learning area on the snow front of the AC near the entrance of the fenced in corral in coordination with the Supervisor.  If the skis are rentals leave on the rack, if not hand skis to parents.

12:30-3:00

Afternoon lesson resumes on snow.

Pros take a warm up run with students. Pros conduct their lessons using appropriate drills and progressions on the appropriate terrain; touching on concepts from the morning lesson

Afternoon break usually takes place about 1:45pm.

During break the Pros begin filling out progress cards if they did not start the process during lunch and fill out their timecards and place them in the box for the AC Indoor Supervisor

Classes take their last runs after break and return to the AC by 2:45pm as the on snow portion of the lesson concludes.

Pros place skis back on the red racks alphabetically prior to conversations with parents.

2:45-3:15

Pros submit their yellow roster to their supervisor.

Pros speak to the parents individually, review progress cards and highlights of the day and invite guest back for another day

3:15-3:30

Pros depart for the day and return their uniform and equipment to the locker room at MOC.

helpful hints

For younger kids just starting out, the equipment can be daunting. Remember your first time in ski boots? And parents may not have prepped them for success. Make sure their boots are on the right feet and that their feet are comfortable (socks not scrunched up and buckles adjusted correctly).

Bathroom breaks are non-negotiable. Everyone tries…No Pee, No Ski!

Separating from parents can be tough. Use distraction techniques to shift their attention while also making sure they understand that Mom & Dad will be seeing them later.

Encourage good manners and kindness. Mentor the same.
