New hire training
Welcome to the Stowe Ski and Ride School! We’re thrilled to have you joining our team and excited to support you as you begin your journey with us.
Now that your hiring process is complete, I’d like to share important details about your New Hire Training.
Training Schedule
Your training dates depend on your employment status (unless you requested otherwise):
Full-Time Instructors:
December 1–4Part-Time Instructors:
December 6–7 and December 13–14J1 Students and Make-up Session
December 16-19
Training Expectations & Logistics
You are required to attend all training days in chronological order (Day 1, 2, 3 & 4).
If you are unable to attend a session, please contact ben.debenedictis@vailresorts.com.
Be prepared to ski or ride starting on day 1. You do not need to arrive in ski/board boots—changing and storage space will be provided. Helmets are required! There is a process for requesting a free helmet (see the Uniform Request Form).
Training runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day.
A “Team Teach” day will be assigned to you during New Hire Training. Team Teach is an opportunity to shadow a lesson with a veteran instructor.
New Hire Check List (Mandatory!!!)
All items included in this list must be completed before your first in-person day of training!
Part-Time instructors must submit an availability calendar using signup.com
Submit a Uniform Request From
Sign into Epic Employee and complete onboarding tasks (all required notices including the Ski Waiver and direct deposit sign up)
Complete the I-9 verification via Equifax (link provided via email also available on Epic Employee under the “My Tasks” tab)
Pick up your employee season pass. This must be done at the Adventure Center prior to your first day of training. You must provide your Customer ID# to the desk agent, this number is provided to you via an email from Dave Jakubson, subject line “Pass Pick up Instructions.”
Complete all required online trainings via the LIFT. All required lift trainings listed here. Please Note: You may be assigned “Legion” training, this is only required if you are planning to work in another department. Approximate completion time for these required trainings is 2.5 hours.

Location & Parking
Training will meet at the Adventure Center at Spruce Peak.
Please park in the D1 or D2 lots
From there, take the staff shuttle or walk to the Over Easy transfer gondola.
Ride the gondola to the Spruce side and walk across the plaza to the Adventure Center.
